Left side dying

Hey, all.

Seems the left side of my keyboard is dying: the LEDs keep flashing on and off, and the left side stops working when the LEDs go out.

At first I thought it was the cord connecting the two halves, so I connected the two halves, but it’s happening even with the two halves connected.

Any suggestions for troubleshooting this? I’d hate to have to buy a new keyboard, but I might need to…

Well, the segment display flat cable is an obvious next suspect, but I am not sure if it can be blamed for the entire left half stopping to work.

Yeah, if it was just the LEDs, that’d be one thing – but the entire left side stops working. Keystrokes don’t register. All LEDs go out.

I was hoping it was that phone cable, and I’d replace it and be done, dealing with having the two sides connected until I can get a new cable… but even with the two halves directly connected, the left side goes out. Right side is fine.

To clarify: By “all LEDs,” I mean also the ones behind the keys – not just the display on the top left corner.

It’d be worth powering both halves via USB to see if the issue persists. You can remove the bridge cable, and then the halves will communicate wirelessly.

wait, uhk80 or uhk60?

Can’t believe I forgot to say. This is a UHK60v2.

Please follow this troubleshooting guide. It’s tedious, but please don’t miss any points, as many reasons can cause this issue.

Well, maybe it was #10. I was traveling last week, and was not working at my usual location. Today, at my house, the keyboard seems to be working 100%.

I’ll keep watch on it. Thanks for the link to the troubleshooting guide.
