haha yes! hope I could provider better photos later
In return, would you let me be happier by receiving the missing keycaps for the cluster module
I will ask but we are yet to find a process to have only a few keys done, it’s a logistics nightmare, and a shipping overhead too
can you prepare those keys and send them to contact@yuzukeycaps.com please?
Thank you so much . Can’t appreciate the keycaps enough…
Here’s my entry (with my Colemak-DH layout):
https://yuzukeycaps.com/c/3df560cd-9e5f-4316-aca8-ff6a616754fb
I had a few issues preparing that - a bug or two. And every time I reported a bug (with the handy little chat built in), the issue was fixed in a matter of hours. Just fantastic! The support has been brilliant. And the interface, while it takes a few minutes to get used to, is quite powerful and allows just about everything I need.
Hope you guys do well.
nice unique design! thanks for the kind words too <3
It really is so nice to finally have something like this available, isn’t it?
Huh
Hi,
I have discussed this with the factory and the production cost is very high for only a few keys. It would not make sense to do it unfortunately, but here is a 20% discount code if you are willing to place another order: M57S1JJ8SR36
Sorry that we could not accomodate your request, I hope you are happy nonetheless!
Have a great day,
This is BS. This left me with so much anger. I mentioned in the email that I will cover the cost for the 3 keys. I ordered the keycaps not because of the giveaway but because the guy seemed genuine about customers and stuff made me trust that he’s running the business for passion.
Now I am looking at other people’s nice module keys while I have ugly af 3 keys not aligning with other keys. and the only way to solve it is to order the entire keycap set with the shiny 20% discount coupon (No thanks, I’ll pass it to the next poor customer)
Thanks dude and shame on you Yuzu. I only realised later that I can order exactly same quality keycaps on AliExpress for $20. Yes. double screw bar on you. doing business against monkeys is your dream land.
you stupid idiots asked me to order a whole set of keycaps for just 3 missing keys and the generous 20% discount coupon? wow so generous and I say I will devote my useless internet life to tell people alternative good quality keycaps, I hope you are happy nonetheless!
https://www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-dye-sub-PBT.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.search.0
Here’s some links if anyone is interersted,
BTW Yuzu ships keycaps directly from China, Shenzhen. Meaning the Yuzu keycaps are just as same as other manufacturers in Shenzhen.
So I just ordered a whole set of keycaps for $25 with free shipping! from ali.
(and yet Yuzu said
I have discussed this with the factory and the production cost is very high for only a few keys.
)
How much was the 3 keys going to cost? $100???
So, do you want your keycaps and customisation? Hey, take a screenshot from Yuzu customisation app and send it to the aliexpress seller
To Yuzu,
Sorry that I could not tolerate your poor management. I hope you are happy nonetheless!
Have a great day,
Wow, that was… unexpected. I didn’t realize my email could make you so angry! I will try to address the issue here the best I can because you are being harsh and unfair imho.
First, you got exactly what you ordered, and we even sent photos of the final product before actually shipping it. This is what we focus on, and while there is always room for improvement, we are already doing pretty good at it.
We do make our keycaps in China, because this is where the quality is at. I have ordered a dye sub machine worth thousands of USD in 2021, only to realize that I would never be able to master the skills and get the supplies necessary to make good consistent dye sub without being in China. Not at the level of quality the mechanical keyboard is expecting and the high standards I am setting for myself and the company. It took me many more years and trips to China to finally find this supplier (Keyreative) that is reliable enough to offer this service with a great quality, consistently, and willing to do it!
Now this is where the issue you are having comes into play. The process of making dye sub is expensive and involves manual labor. It is true when producing sets at a large scale, and even more so when offering customized one-off sets. This only makes sense economically (to us and our partner factory) for full sets, especially because we don’t process such a high monthly volume (yet!). I am hoping this changes in the future, but for now, we just can’t take small orders, not even macropads. It’s not about the number of keys involved, it’s about the unit cost of handling an order.
When you asked (earlier in this thread), I had 2 other people waiting for almost the same thing (both wanted a few keys done). So I was already trying to get the factory to do them, asking if it’s possible and if so how, and waiting for their response. We agreed that they wouldn’t do it anymore (they did a few times before) because they told me it is too expensive, the price can’t scale down, and it’s also a lot of overhead to deal with, on both sides. I did not make this up to sell you something else, or get you to buy another set. If you don’t like the 20% discount, don’t take it, it was just my attempt to please you despite being unable to accept your request. Had you asked me when placing the order to add those keys, I would have gladly done so, just like I did when it got asked somewhere in this forum or in an email.
Finally, if you find good quality keycaps alternatives, you are absolutely entitled to talk about them and promote them. Competition is healthy, and pushes us to always do better. Taking screenshots and sending them over is ethically questionable but there is nothing I can do to stop you. I have been personally searching for a custom set for my own UHK for years. This is what actually got me started to create this customization service. Before you start calling BS on this too, I dug through my archives and found this quote from an email I sent to Laszlo in 2019 the 16th of April, saying:
How about making a website to order a custom key set, that would fit the UHK exactly, at a reasonable price… I am now making my way into making this idea (my dream!) a reality.
Not gonna lie, you just gave me a crash course on (angry) customer support. Thank you for that, for trimming a bit your original message, and for giving me the opportunity to smile at this email from 2019, the feeling of accomplishment is priceless. I hope you will be pleased with the $25 set and feel better soon
Super angry customer support crash course 2

sticking with “you got what you ordered” is yet what makes me speechless. Right, I used the word “missing” keycaps and that’s what you decided to fixate on instead of focusing on the actual problem.
-
Do people like me have options to order the cluster keycaps? No. And you give BLAHBLAHBLAHBLAH. Customers only care whether you can solve your business problems in your own way or not. Especially when a set keycaps cost around $100.
What you’re suggesting is “the only way is to fix your customer problem is to order a new set”.
If a fruit shop had inventory problems when a happy customer entered, then go run to other shop and stock up more. And while I’m writing this I hḏve a feeling that you’ll say “but we’re not selling apples” duh
Don’t care how, it’s your business. And it takes one lazy man to not dig for futher solutions to turn one happy customer to super angry customer. And the lazy man is not so lazy at explaining why he was not lazy.
The 20% discount coupon was your petty monkey banana you threw, where you close your eyes and hope this can make turn the customer positive when customers can never get the 3 keys unless they order the full set.
Hey, I might have been happy paying even $40 for the 3 keycaps if the shipping cost was included. so that you still order the entire set from the factory and you take whatever the loss that was made during that. Then I could have been a slight angry but still happy customer. Again, it’s your business and Yes I’ll be very happy with the alternative good quality keycaps I found from the link. the materials are exactly the same and printing qualities are great. (If you know Shenzhen, the factories are basically massive webs and the machines they use are mostly identical to catch up with other competitors)
You were happy reading my review but so not dedicated to solve my issues. You even simply ignored what I wrote about the cluster keycaps in my post with photos but just wanted to use my photos and quotes for your shiny review section without holding hands with the customer and solve his problem.
The more I read the angrier I get.
You think my situation is same as the other two who just wants a few keys done for slight customisation?
You added the module addon OFFICIALLY. That’s not just a random freaking few key caps.
Hey, what if UHK added a new module but you can only purchase it with the whole keyboard due to “cost issue”.
Customers who didn’t order the new module in the place now has to order the entire new v60 keyboard.
And UHK replied “hey, I’m sorry. But here’s 20% discount coupon. I hope you are happy nonetheless!”

Before you start calling BS on this too,
I’m calling your customer support BS. A big massive BS. What did you think I said BS for showing me the email archives? (I’m really lost there). You think I didn’t believe you contacted the factory? I believed you did. And I call it BS that’s where your customer support spirit ends. Why not the factories just sell the keycaps then if there’s no support? Ah! yes they do on Aliexpress!
You’re a middle man in the relationships between the products and the customers.
customer <----customisation app----> factories
.
I understand your business is to take the @ in $25+@ with your customisation app. I call it fair. dream autopilot money that you don’t have to care the manufacturing. But is that the only thing you do? You got so much passion that I see in brining new customers (You solved all the issues related to attracting new customers blazing fast in no time.) but have 0 passion in making existing customers happy. but hey, why we care since that 20% coupon will solve all existing customers problems. I’m sure I was just an edge case in UHK category. If you solved me right in the first place then everything could have gone smooth.
I could have been nicer. But no, I expressed my issue in my review post and you didn’t care. I asked for help (which is not a random issue) and even said I will cover the cost. But you stopped there. your emails, your replies, all clearly shows me that I do not need to be nice. Ask for more crash course if you want.
“I hope you’re happy nonetheless!”
I can to a certain degree understand both sides, but maybe you want to continue the discussion not in the forum, but just come back after you are finished and give a short summary which would be relevant for other UHK users?
I second @rpnfan.
@eugeneer please do not use explicit language. This forum is meant to be a medium for friendly and constructive conversations. I think @kartsims responded thoroughly and professionally. If you have further disagreements, I advise discussing them privately.
Apologies for making an unnecessary scene in the forum. I definitely am struggling with my anxiety as shown. will apply the rule of thumb of the market.
I couldn’t wait any longer
Went ahead and ordered em a couple hours ago.
I really hope the new caps make my UHK look as much like a weird 90’s toy as I imagined
Now I need to hunt down some old Speak & Spell audio samples…
Who won the giveaway?!
thanks for asking! I just did the draw and… it’s actually your name that came up! I just put all participants in the hat and clicked once (screenshot attached)
congratulations! happy to offer a 10% coupon to anyone who joined too, should you be willing to ever order yours you can dm me
thank you for joining guys, it was a pleasure to view your creations and give away a set!
Congrats man!
