UHK80 right shift key enlargement

The UHK80 shift key on the right side is rather narrow, and I’m not using the adjacent key. I’m wondering if it’s possible in the future for the company to offer a replacement key cap (or suggest a matching third-party alternative) that would occupy the size of both those keys (as per the attached image) to make a larger shift key on the right side. Thanks.

Of course, it’s possible, but not probable. Far too niche to be a viable product.
Someone else brought up the same question, and some DIY ideas were being discussed just the other day in this thread starting here:

Thanks. Apologies I missed the other duplicate topic. Good that it was raised though.

Btw., I have a similar “issue” with the left iso/shift keys. While I do have an iso plate that I could swap in, so far I was lazy to so so and have mapped both the keys to the left shift instead.

Works fine for me, and as a bonus it is making me learn to press the shift in a one “correct” place (correct in the sense of deliberately chosen) instead of sloppily punching at random.

I mapped the key next to the right shift to shift for a while too, but I decided to just disable it to force myself to be more accurate. It only took a week or so, and then I mapped it back to the default double-arrow.

The worst is when you accidently hit the “insert” key & overwrite a ton of stuff when you’re not looking.

I wouldn’t even try to use the small iso left-shift. I’d need the freedom to be sloppy with that one while gaming. That’s the default “run like a coward” button.:man_running::man_running::man_running:

Oh man, “Run like a coward!” would make a great left-shift legend. Maybe a little possum with xx-eyes for the prone button.

I might just design a “Terrible Gamer” keycap theme.:smirk:

I’ve been trying to not chime in here, but this pushed me over the edge :upside_down_face:.

I ordered an ISO UHK 60 v1 for the tiny shift and the extra button next to it and I think it would be nice if the UHK 80 had a “both shifts are tiny with extra buttons” option for US layout .

@albert To each their own, I guess.

I’m a firm believer in using the right tools for the job.
I’ve worked really hard to be a professionally incompetent casual gamer, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without that big ol’ left-shift keeping my lack of focus in top shape. @maexxx’s snap-tap macro has proven indispensable in that journey as well.

(In all seriousness though, that snap-tap macro has been a big help for me in quite a few games.)
