The UHK 80 user manual warns that the battery level readings on the OLED screen are inaccurate. Mine are reading 64% 84% on my brand new -80 and have been stuck there for a day. I’m going to assume this is normal (at this time) per that warning … unless you tell me otherwise …
(Only reason I’m posting is the off chance this might not be normal for a new -80 with the current firmware…)
It’s probably nothing to worry about. I was having some similar issues recently as well. When looking at my UART logs, sometimes the voltages are changing as they should, but the percentage values take a long time to reflect the difference.
Do the values change if you use the reboot macro command?
Also, are you using the “Extend battery life: limit maximum battery charge level” setting in Agent’s “Battery settings” tab, or the set battery.chargeLimit optimizeHealth macro?
Yes, that’s the effect of “Extend battery life” settings in Agent, or the corresponding set battery.chargeLimit optimizeHealth in macros. It will prevent the batteries from charging to completely full. This helps prolong the lifetime of Li-ion batteries.
The batteries are charged to 3800mV (the state machine tries to keep it between 3750 and 3850 to be precise), which corresponds to different capacity percentages on each half due to different characteristics of the two batteries.
Also the values may change after a reboot slightly (say ±5%). (Determining capacity percentage value that is stable and precise at the same time is difficult…)
Yes I have the “extend battery life” option set. Okay then: UHK-80 hardware fully functional, UHK-80 firmware fully functional, and now I have only to update the UHK-80 software - in my brain! - the keys in the RHS will be fully functional once I train myself to hit Enter, Backslash, and Backspace correctly (for some reason, though the keys are in the same place and have the same shape I keep mis-hitting those keys now …)
P.S. The better LHS space key than the -60’s odd RHS space switch is, by itself, worth the price of the whole thing … but I intend to use the proper function keys and arrow keys and hom/end/etc as well, eventually ..
