They won’t fit.
but it says they are for the uhk!?
The UHK 80 has regular MX switches (most of the keyboard) and “Choc v2” switches (the front row thumb keys which are lower than the rest of the keyboard). The UHK 60 has only regular MX switches (and case buttons, but those cannot be swapped).
These two types of switches (MX, Choc) are mutually incompatible. They won’t fit the other socket. Their pins sit at different positions, and the centre pin has a different diameter. When you order switches you need to make sure you order the type that you want to fit into your keyboard.
Oh wow I didn’t knew the 80 had different switches. So it is safe to say that low profile switches will not fit the 60 in any way?
The Kailh low profiles will 100% not fit.
These are the only low-ish profile switches known to work with the standard MX hotswap sockets used in the UHK60: Amazon.com: Tecsee Mechanical Keyboard Silent Shaft Switch Lubricated, Silent Tactile Low Profile Yellow Medium Switch for Tablet Notebook Desktop Computer Peripheral Keyboard(70PCS Tactile) : Video Games
Here’s another thread with a lot of useful info:
so as I was re-assemblying my uhk60 to fix the high pitched noise I took a look at the metal frame and for what its used. and so far I can tell, if you don’t use the thumb clusters you could easily leave it and then have no height restrictions to use low profile switches if they fit the 3/5 pin mx style.
BUT I think we all use the thumbclusters and the metal frame is used to hold the crews that fixate the metal rods that hold the thumb clusters. so im not sure how to fix that but a second frame that can provide support for the rods that are needed for the thumb clusters. im not sure how to make something to test it out and I also don’t have switches around that would allow me to test but at least that’s what I found out to make a real low profile uhk60
