Stubborn Shift Key

When I press the left shift key on the very right side of it, it takes a lot of force and feels stuck and then gives way all of a sudden, to the point where my pinky has started to hurt and it messes up my typing rhythm. Maybe the press is not being properly handled by the right stabilizer, or something of that sort, but I have never really messed with the nuts and bolts of my keyboards and when I take the keycap off and compare it to, say, the right shift key it looks/feels similar. It kind of feels like the key first tilts when I press it, and then at that angle it is difficult to press as it’s being pushed down at an angle now.

This keyboard is brand new and it was happening like this when I got it. None of the other keys do this and I actually have another UHK 60 that doesn’t do this on any keys either.

The left shift key is the only one where this happens and only on the right side, so if it’s as simple as swapping stabilizer/switch with some other key, I’d happily do that and relegate the stubborn one to the right shift key. But just wanted to ask first if someone recognizes this issue and has a surefire fix.

Thanks!

It sounds like you just need to reseat the switch or stabilizer. Can you show us some pics/vids with the keycap removed? maybe a pic of the underside of the cap stems as well?
