STL for non-standard keycaps?

Hey all,

This is my first post here. I’ve been reading about the keycaps for the UHK:

And saw this section:
“Given the above, most keycap sets available on the market won’t fit the rightmost keys. Still, almost all keys can be purchased individually from the market, except for the R1 1.5U and R4X 1.75U keycaps, which are non-standard.”

I wanted to ask this forum if anyone has STL files for those 2 keycaps that are mentioned so that people could 3d print the ones they can’t purchase.

Steven

Hi there,

I think our supplier has the 3D models of the keycaps, and I’m unsure whether they’d provide them.

Would you use an FDM printer to print the keycaps? Because the resolution of such printers is insufficient for a proper fit at the key stem.

We have an SLA printer used for printing D&D miniatures (Sonic Mini 4k) which I think would work especially if used with one of the extra durable resins.

Let me know if you can get the files, I would love to give it a try. I could post results here in case others want to try.

(I would also be up for purchasing those from your shop as well if you offered the non-standard keys there… maybe also include the “X” keys from the key cluster as well… but in the mean time can try to print them).

Our supplier has just told us that at the time the special keycaps were created, they only made 2D files, so they don’t have 3D files.
