Solution for transporting the UHK (and not waking Macbook!)

I am wondering, how do you people go around with the keyboard? I sometimes need to travel (e.g. to the office). Since the keyboard does not turn off (UHK80 at least) and cannot be turned off, it keeps working by hitting the keys in my backpack. I’ve noticed that it keeps waking up my MacBook, which is almost on fire in my backpack because of that

And btw, I am pretty sure it does wake it up even without hitting any key looking at how my MacBook’s battery suddenly drops to super low after a single night.

Do you have any remedy for that? Except for silly “disconnect the BT connection on the MacBook every time you end your work”

A more proper sleep mode is coming soon, stay tuned ;-).

(I would post a dev build, except it depends on a newer UserConfig format and consequently an Agent build…)

Not withstanding what Karel said…

I map the below to one key

powerMode deepSleep

and the below to another key

powerMode wake

My UHK80 does not wake while it is connected to my macbook. (Okay sometimes it goes into deep deep hibernation and won’t wake at all but that is a different story and not connected to sleeping)

@kareltucek isn’t the light sleep macro command already implemented and available in current release firmware? I am using some combos (shortcuts) in my UHK80 config to put the keyboard in light sleep, where it ignores keypresses until I hit the combo again.

Ah yes, that’s the one I was thinking about. I mapped it to a shortcut macro, so that I have to press a key combo (5+g or 8+h) within a short time to activate/deactivate sleep.

Well, currently available sleep modes a very temporary measure .
