Option gone for display alphanumeric segments brightness UHK60(V1)

There is no longer an option for the alphanumeric segment’s brightness separate from the display brightness I would love for the caps lock led to be active while the alphanumeric segments to be turned off. I only just noticed this after the recent update.

@kareltucek Has this feature been completely phased out, or is it still accessible via smart macros?

Completely phased out. (Also, controlling brightnesses independently never was possible via smart macros.)

But it shouldn’t bee too hard to add.

@kareltucek Thanks! Let’s not add a relevant macro variable yet, only if there’s a larger demand.

@kunje This option has been removed because it added complexity to the user interface for little benefit. The UI is rather complicated when the battery options are present for the UHK 80:

Also, all future UHKs will contain an OLED dispay, so separately controlling alphanumeric segment brightness has less and less significance.

Are we going to get options again (from smart macros) to put messages on the display? I am missing the power of setLedTxt to help display macro functions, state, or debug messages. This works only on the segment display, but not with OLED.

Yes, but I am afraid that there is a number of much more important issues, and what’s worse, it seems to be increasing.

I really miss playing with the LED text as well.

I’d also like to request a lo-fi version of Tetris be snuck in there somehow. (only half kidding)

You’ve made a lot of improvements too. I’m sure you’ll get the kinks ironed out before long.

Appreciate the response will definitely try to set up a macro to adjust it myself if at all possible. Will update here if I can get it to work with what I did.

Thank you for the earlier response as well as this as a proper explanation seeing the interface with the battery options definitely would make the UI crowded and complicated with the separate slider to control the alphanumerical segment. Very happy to see the progress and projects you guys are cooking up have enjoyed everything from the start and can’t wait to see what the future holds looking forward to owning another keyboard in the future but my V1 UHK60 still is doing fantastic and I love it.
