No more High-pitched noise on UHK 80 (at least on bluetooth)

I got the new UHK 80 a few weeks ago, and it was the most expensive keyboard I’ve ever bought. While there are many reasons to justify this price, I was not expecting that there will be “high pitch” sounds coming out of the keyboard. It was driving me nuts, almost forcing me to use headphones to avoid hearing it.

Today I found a fix, or at least a workaround and would like to share with others who might experience this pain point.

Since it arrived, I connected it using USB-C and decided to skip the Bluetooth connection. I had read about several issues with Bluetooth on a forum and didn’t want to waste time dealing with them.

However, today I updated the firmware to 12.3.3 and decided to try also the bluetooth connection.

It worked.

Once I connected via Bluetooth and unplugged the USB cable, the noise stopped. Finally…

I’m sure that when I need to charge the batteries or switch to a wired connection, the problem will return. I hope this gives the developers enough time to fix the issue properly.

In a nutshell, remove the wired connection, switch to Bluetooth, and the pitch noise should stop.

Strange, but good to know.

Yeah, for me the high-pitched noise coming from the left half also only happens with either a direct USB-C connection of the left half or with the bridge cable connected to the right half and the right half connected via USB-C.

Alternatively, setting the LED brightness to 0 when connected to USB-C also fixes the noise issue.

unfortunately I didn’t get the battery yet. Will probably just send the 80 back whenever laszlo does the recalls.
