I just started using my homerow keys as a secondddary moddifer layer and havvve been getting this weird repeating charaacters interference that youu can see here. attached is my typing behaviorr settings that i am using. i trieddd messssing around with some of the sliders but none of my changes have made any noticable difference.
hmmmm not sure if this has anything to do with the secondary layer, thouuugh i did encounter this issue upon enabling this feature. Here is the outpuut when i enter r o <space> repeatedly
and neither ooof the keys r nor o use the secondary layer. I thouught this might have beeen a hardwarrre issue with the mechanical switches, buut i don’t seeeem to havve the issue wwwhen the secondary layers are disabled
I tried that before I posted, sorry I should have mentioned that in the OP. I’ve tried a bunch of slider settings and have not found any optimal solution at the moment. Not sure what the issue is but it seems to be having multiple keys pressed, like when rolling while typing. at the moment, i cannot find a solution using home row key modifiers unless i intentionally slow down my typing so that no keys overlap when pressed and wait for each key to properly register before moving on to the next key. From what i’m noticing, it seems like the secondary layers may be a little buggy, and that the timings are off when typing at a moderate speed (i am at about 40-50 wpm).
Well, I gave it a short try and was not able to reproduce any doubled char within some 700 characters.
Is it possible that your OS character autorepeat kicks in? Secondary roles often postpone key releases (not just presses), so that may easily be the culprit. Please try increasing your system’s autorepeat delay to at least 1 second or so.
Thanks! I think this did the trick. it seems to work better than before. I am not getting the repeating characters anymore. I moved the Delay until repeat up one notch and it fixed the issue.
