Mouse key when holding; escape key if tapped

Hi, all. I saw somewhere that I should consider making my mouse key be Escape when I touch it, but then Mouse when I hold it. I have tried configuring this in the agent, but whenever I configure the Mouse button to send Escape, it won’t do Mouse.

I am 100% sure this is user error, and have done searches here but have not found something that explains how to do this. I’m sure I am missing concepts, but I’m not sure yet what I’m missing.

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to do this? Feel free to point me to one of the posts here, or a blog post somewhere. As I said, I have done searches here, and web searches, and I have not found the answer yet.

Is there any “intro to UHK” documentation that I haven’t found yet? I feel like I’m asking very basic questions and making very basic missteps.
