Launching applications via UHK macros on macOS

Hello. I just received my UHK 60 v2 and am absolutely loving it!!

I am trying to set up the right Super modifier key to launch my default browser. Can someone help me with this? I tried ChatGPT but the suggestions did not work.

Thank you, all!

Hi there, and thanks for the kind words!

I suggest mapping an exotic shortcut that surely doesn’t interfere with other shortcuts, such as ctrl+alt+shift+f24 to the right super key in Agent. Then make macOS run your default browser when receiving this shortcut.

@mlac ah good idea, thank you!

I’m actually having trouble with the syntax to enter into Agent > Macros for launching a macOS app. Could you provide an example on how I could launch an app from my applications folder?

Well, you can’t make the UHK or Agent launch an app directly. You can only make it type some keys. So what is the key sequence that you want to use to launch an app? What would you have to do on a regular Mac keyboard to launch the app?

If you’re a little code-savvy, I would suggest skhd, found here:

While what mlac has suggested should work, I have had no problems with skhd.
