In extended macros: what’s the difference between KEYABBREV keypad1AndEnd and np1 (and similar number keys)? Do they activate different scan codes or are they just synonyms for the same key?

They are synonyms for the same scancode!

Yes! In right/src/macro_shortcut_parser.c and those then lead to right/src/lufa/HIDClassCommon.h
