When using the UHK 80 wirelessly either RF or Bluetooth can one continue use when the batteries drain by connecting both halves to a computer to recharge AND continue to use the keyboard while charging?
I’m looking to avoid needing to unplug a proprietary dongle and connect usb cables up to it in order to regain connectivity while charging.
I’m looking for plug and play compatibility so if I am working and the battery runs low or dies that I can just connect each half to a computer and have it charge up ( could still be connected wirelessly - unsure if this connection and use type is currently able to be handled )
At the moment no. (More precisely, dongle (which is also bluetooth, not radio) no, bluetooth HID may or may not work.)
But I am working on connection management right now, which will give you the ability. (It will allow you to configure connection priorities, behavior when the host connects - whether to switch over to it or no, as well as switch hosts via macros.)
I.e., patience please, in something like a week or three, it should be available.
I did not mean to infer that there was any immediate expectation or timetable I have just run into this question / issue with a different split keyboard manufacturer who has not been entirely transparent about their charging and usage feature with regards to charging over usb while still being connected via bluetooth / wireless.
t’s refreshing and a pleasant surprise to hear that something like this is already under ongoing development so the folks at UHK are aware.
