Bricked left keyboard half

I seem to have bricked my left keyboard half during firmware update. Probably/Maybe because the keyboard was connected via a KVM switch at that time(?).
I already tried the method described here: My UHK is bricked! What now? - Ultimate Hacking Keyboard, but I just keep getting the same messages over and over until the update process fails with an error (Couldn’t connect to the “Left keyboard half”.). I tried the update process multiple times on linux and windows.

Is there another way to unbrick the left half?

I “bricked” mine in almost the same way, my UHK 60 v1 was plugged in to the monitor. Tried all the things, contacted support and informed them I tried all the things. In the end I had to send in for repair.

Hope you are luckier than I am.

It is a lame advice, but give it another hundred (or two) more tries. Always worked for me eventually.

Can someone more knowledgeable confirm whether we should avoid K(V)M switches during fw upgrade? For the first year or so I always disconnected it but later forgot it during one upgrade and have not bothered with it ever since.

Definitely yes if you want to be on the safe side.
