Is there a known issue with the responsiveness of the pointer devices over BLE? Mouse keys I know the speed one, but this is more of a jittery/jumpiness. If not I shall raise one. If there is, would someone share the id please.
It’s definitely known, and it’s always been jittery over BLE for me.
It’s been mentioned quite a few times here in the forum and on GitHub, but I don’t think anyone’s made a specific GH issue for the modules over BLE.
I think it’s kind of expected over BLE though. As you can see from my comment over in another thread, the dongle’s page in the UHK Shop acknowledges the responsiveness issues:
Ah, but I have no issues with the mouse over BLE. I do not experience jitteriness with the mouse using mouse keys, I have macros that scale the scrolling speeds up and down depending if wired or BLE and with those the mouse keys are grand.
The trackball is jittery over BLE, and to be blunt I am not going to go down using multiple dongles to have them work with various devices.
If the mouse keys are not jittery then surely the same can happen for the trackball?
actually I wonder if the speed issues affecting the mouse keys have a similar effect on the trackball interpretations.
Curious, if I have the keyboard wired but use the BLE connection the modules seem to be “not jittery”, very subjective and not sure if I am imaging things or not. Will play around a bit.
I’m on firmware 13.0.0, just tested BLE with my Android phone, and mouse pointer movement is very responsive with every module and the mouse keys.
It’d be useful to prove that this is an actual issue, not just your perception. A high-refresh-rate video may help.
I switched to a different module and that is fine. Think I need to change the ball in my trackball!
